Data science interviews for freshers rarely ask you to invent an algorithm. They ask whether you understand your data, whether you picked a defensible metric, and whether you know what your model is doing wrong. This track is built around those three questions.
The statistics half also maps closely to the GATE Data Science & AI (DA) paper, so the same preparation serves both a placement and an exam attempt.
